CHC41708 Certificate IV in Education Support
This qualification covers workers in a range of education and school settings who provide assistance and support to teachers to facilitate students' learning under broad based supervision. Some job roles may require tasks to be performed with a moderate level of autonomy and/or the provision of supervision/leadership to other staff/volunteers.
Occupation titles may include:
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander education officer
- Education assistant
- Education worker
- Home tutor
- Indigenous language and culture teaching assistant
- Language worker
- Literacy worker
- Support worker (children with disabilities)
- Teacher aide
- Teacher assistant.
To gain entry into this qualification students must:
- have previously completed a Certificate III level or higher in education support, children's services or a related area; or
- have sufficient validated experience in directly supervised learning support roles as an education support worker, child care worker, home/volunteer tutor or similar role to indicate likely success at this level of qualification
