Unique Student Identifier

From the 1st January 2015 all students undertaking nationally recognised training delivered by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) must obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI) before you can enrol in your chosen qualification.

A USI is made up of a combination of ten (10) numbers and/or letters and will look something like: 3AW88YH9U5

Your USI will give you access to your online USI account. USI's remain with the student for life and your account will contain all your nationally recognised training records and results from 1 January 2015 onwards. This makes for a one stop shop to access your training history when applying for employment or further study.

It is BGT's policy not to commence a student in training who has not provided a valid USI.

It is a legislative requirement that BGT cannot issue a Qualification or Statement of Attainment to any student who has not provided a valid USI.

How to get a USI

BGT require all students to supply a valid USI on enrolment. It is a free and easy process for students. You can create your USI online using your computer, tablet or smart phone anywhere and anytime providing you have adequate internet connection.

Step 3 - Visit the USI website by clicking here

Step 4 - Select the 'I need or have a USI' link and then select 'I want to create a USI'

Step 5 - Select 'I am an Australian student' and then choose from the list which form of ID you will be using. Click on 'Create your USI now'
