Community Grant and Sponsorship Program

A proud community contributor

BGT Jobs & Training (BGT) Ballarat is a not-for-profit organisation which has been a story of continued growth and success for over 36 years. In 1986 we began supporting young people to access employment opportunities and reach their full potential, providing employers with well-skilled staff. Today we offer a more diverse range of services yet our original philosophy remains, to create positive life outcomes for those we support whilst contributing to the needs of our community more broadly.

BGT provides:

  • Employment Services (apprenticeships/traineeships with host employers)
  • Accredited Training across a range of qualifications / skills sets as an RTO (Registered Training Organisation)
  • Industry skills training (engineering / fabrication qualifications)
  • Community Services supporting disadvantaged youth / long-term unemployed to engage in education and work readiness programs
  • Management of the Barkly Square precinct in Ballarat, as the lead Tenant; home to 26 community-minded organisations.

BGT may assist by:

  • Providing a grant or sponsorship for a specific purpose / program, requested by an eligible organisation or individual
  • Providing a donation to an eligible organisation who is conducting an event / campaign to raise funds for their organisation or for a charitable cause
  • Offering event sponsorship for a Ballarat community event which is clear in its purpose to bring together, and give back to the local community
  • This support may be in the form of a financial grant, donation or sponsorship, or provided by in-kind contributions.

The process for applying for a grant / sponsorship involves completing a Community Grant & Sponsorship Proposal

The requested support may be up to a maximum value of $2,000.

Who can apply, and for what projects?

If you are a not-for-profit community organisation seeking funding assistance, or an individual experiencing financial barriers to accessing BGT Jobs & Training Ballarat service, then BGT may assist by providing a grant or sponsorship.

These types of eligible recipients include volunteer organisations, not-for-profit entities, schools and community interest groups or organisations, as well as individual participants, job seekers, students, apprentices / trainees who require additional financial support.

These grants will not be granted to areas which are the remit of Government.
