As a Disability Support Worker at Ballarat Support Services, your mission is to be a beacon of support and encouragement for individuals with disabilities. Here's a snapshot of what your role will entail:


Community-Based Support:

• You'll be the bridge that connects individuals to their wider community. This means accompanying them to appointments, ensuring they have access to necessary services, and promoting their active participation in community life.


In-Home Support:

• Provide personalized assistance within the comfort of their homes. This might involve helping with daily activities, offering companionship, and creating a safe and nurturing environment.


Domestic Assistance:

• Empower individuals to maintain their living spaces by assisting with light housekeeping tasks, organizing, and ensuring a clean and orderly environment.


Travel Companion:

• Facilitate their mobility by assisting with transportation needs, ensuring they have the means to access essential services, social activities, and appointments.


Weekend Group Outings:

• Organize and facilitate group outings on weekends, creating opportunities for socialization, recreation, and building a sense of community among participants.


All applicants must have a current working with children check and satisfactory current police check. Attractive salary packaging options are available.


Potential applicants must successfully fulfill the requirements to attain a Cert III in Individual Support in accordance with a personalised training plan designed to suit your specific needs. The training will take place on-site and will incorporate a blend of formal and informal learning methods. Formal learning involves dedicating 3 hours per week (in work time) to complete coursework, following the prescribed training plan throughout the traineeship period.


Duration of role: 12-24 month Traineeship. Full-time or part-time employment available.
